Back to the Old?

I’ve been asked a few times now about an ending post – not for ending the blog in general but about having finished the Kurdistan training. All of us 4 trainees have successfully completed the training and two of us, including me, are official CPTers now :) woohoo!

It’s been exactly two weeks since that day now but it feels like half a year. I know that it wasn’t just a dream because I realize about myself how differently I approach several problems, how differently I listen to discussions and jokes and how I watch movies. And also, without having spent more than a month in beautiful Kurdistan, I wouldn’t have met all these great people that I’m still in contact with now.

It is hard to sum up the training but because many of you have read a lot about it I won’t repeat it now. I can definitely say that I have learned for life.

…This is what I wrote two weeks after my return to Hamburg, Germany. I never got to publish it because I got caught in the whirlwind of everyday life sooner than I expected. Sorry about that!
Just to close this chapter for all who have read my blog on a more regular basis: I absolved the training successfully and now I am proud to call myself a CPT reservist.

This summer, my first stake will be in CPT Europe’s Greece project (www.cptgreece.wordpress.com). In the meanwhile I went to the CPT Europe Convergence in Aalsmeer close to Amsterdam. I wrote an article about that for the German Mennonite magazine “Die Brücke”. I will insert it though as my next post as an introduction for my further CPT work. Thank you for reading my posts and supporting me with your prayers and e-mails :)
